The biggest achievement of former Member of Parliament Lagadapati Rajagopal was throwing pepper spray on the face of a guy who was blocking him in Parliament.
The incident happened during the bifurcation debate in Parliament and the unlucky soul was Ponnam Prabhakar.
Ironically, this was the same Ponnam Prabhakar threatened to shoot down the helicopter of then Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy if it passed over Karimnagar. But when Lagadapati applied the spray to him, he burst out crying. But that is another issue altogether.
Lagadapati who led the agitation for a united Andhra Pradesh failed in his attempt and was more prone to gimmicks than focusing on the job at hand. In that sense, he is a failed politician.
And now, he has proved to be a failure at business too. Lanco Infra owned by him has gone bankrupt and its assets are to be sold soon. The company is in debts of a whopping Rs 47,000 crore approximately.
Earlier, we have seen Transtroy owned by MP Rayapati running into a huge debt burden.
The only thing is that some people like Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya flee the country whereas some people like Rayapati stay in Parliament.
Now, Lagadapati can turn into a full-time astrologer and predict the outcomes of elections across India.
Although he is of no use to people and society, he is definitely useful to his community and political parties.
