Contrary to the credit being given to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for securing Telangana State, Congress leaders claim that the credit should go only to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
According to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Laxmaiah, the year 2014 belongs to Sonia and Rahul and not KCR, as far as Telangana is concerned.
The year would be remembered forever by the people of Telangana and they would never forget the immense sacrifice made by the Congress party for achieving the Statehood, he said on Wednesday.
The TPCC chief said the Congress had faced several ups and downs during the year and strived for statehood to Telangana, convinced various parties, leaders and achieved Telangana state.
“The TRS government has completely failed in the past seven months and no promise made during the elections was fulfilled. The people are repenting for voting the TRS to power,” he said.
