Relief to Vamsi: HC grants bail, orders treatment

In a partial relief for YSR Congress Party leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday granted him bail in the fake house site documents (patta) case.

The court took into consideration his deteriorating health condition before granting bail.

Vamsi had earlier secured anticipatory bail in the Gannavaram mines case. However, several other cases are still pending against him.

The High Court has directed that he be admitted to a private hospital for medical treatment and that a report be submitted on his condition. Sources indicate that he may receive treatment at Ayush Hospital in Vijayawada.

Despite Vamsi repeatedly citing poor health, previous medical tests conducted at government hospitals showed normal results, leading to his return to jail.

Following further evaluation at Ayush Hospital, it will be determined whether inpatient care is necessary or if treatment in jail would suffice.

Meanwhile, some YSRCP leaders have harshly criticized government doctors using derogatory language, prompting a strong condemnation from the medical fraternity.

Vallabhaneni Vamsi has secured bail in multiple cases, though a few are still pending.

One such case involves the illegal excavation and sale of soil from the Polavaram canal embankments, for which bail is yet to be granted.

Separately, IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu has been granted bail in the Jatwani case, though he remains in custody in connection with the APPSC irregularities case, where bail is still awaited.
