No question of allowing Lokesh padayatra, for now!

No question of allowing Lokesh padayatra, for now!

Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh’s attempt to generate sympathy among the people for his party following the arrest of his father and party president N Chandrababu Naidu in skill development scam has hit a big road block.

Lokesh was planning to resume his Yuva Galam padayatra on Friday (September 29) from Podalada of Razole in East Godavari district, where he had stopped it on September 9 following his father’s arrest at Nandyal.

While the TDP general secretary was getting ready for the resumption of padayatra, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government gave him a rude shock by implicating him in the Amaravati inner ring road scam and filed a memo in the ACB court to that effect.

So, the moment Lokesh lands in Andhra Pradesh, it is certain that the Crime Investigation Department would arrest him in the scandal and send him to jail to further demoralise the TDP and its cadre.

That is why Lokesh moved the high court seeking anticipatory bail in the Amaravati inner ring road scam. He urged the court to grant him the bail so that he can resume his Yuvagalam padayatra.

However, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government is not going to leave Lokesh even if he gets the anticipatory bail in the case. It is ready to slap the criminal case against him in connection with AP Fibernet scam and throw him behind the bars.

“There is no question of allowing his Yuvagalam padayatra. Lokesh will be thrown behind the bars at any cost. Even if gets bails in all the cases, the police won’t give him permission to resume yatra in view of the volatile law and order issue,” a political analyst said.

Already, the police are not permitting the TDP leaders to take out any kind of rallies or stage any kind of demonstrations. They are not allowing the TDP leaders even to perform mass prayers in temples.

“Under these circumstances, it is very unlikely that Lokesh would get the permission for padayatra,” sources said.
