After scoring a dud with ‘Mr Pellikoduku’, Sunil is back and this time he is more confident with this rom-com. With a big banner like Suresh productions on his head, let us see if it was good enough.

Story:
Rambabu (Sunil) is famous in his village for one thing, if he likes a girl as form of ‘Pellichoopulu’ she gets a very good alliance and her life is settled. Many girls parents keep visiting him for that luck. Meanwhile, he meets with a small injury and discovers he has brain tumor and only 10 days to live. With the villagers showing too much of sympathy, Rambabu leaves the village and comes to city and decides to do good for others by bashing up all the goons as he lives. He also meets Nandini (Esther) and likes her but doesn’t want to proceed due to his health condition. However, a twist occurs and what happens from there forms the rest.

Performances:
Sunil is capable of showing good dance, humor, fights, emotions etc but somewhere he seems to be stuck trying to prove he is a hero. It is time he gets further clarity on his way forward. As far as this film is concern, he didn’t bring out the best in him.

Esther has got a very tempting face filled with raw native sex appeal. But trouble begins from below her neck where she is like a stuffed jute bag. She needs to tone herself up and curb her voluptuous oomph else packup time will come soon for her. Otherwise, she did her part properly in this film.

Sayaji Shinde did his bit as required, Jayaprakash Reddy was brief. The likes of Vikramjit, Telangana Sakunthala, Raghu Babu, Sana, Srinivas Reddy were there to fill the gaps.

Posani was not his usual eccentric self. But the one to watch out for was Prithvi. He was the major source of entertainment and his timing of punch dialogues is impeccable. Supreeth was standard.

Highlights:

  • Prithvi’s comedy

Drawbacks:

  • Weak screenplay
  • Outdated plot
  • Music and songs
  • Insipid humor

Analysis
There is a scene in the film where Sayaji Shinde tells Sunil after hearing a story narration that it is a complete lift from an 80s film so it wont really work. Coincidentally or unfortunately, it is the same thing which happened with this movie.

At the outset, the director has conceived an entertaining line but then it must be said that the original idea struck to him from the 1974 flick ‘Majboor’ and the change he did was infuse the idea with humor and native entertainment.

Similarly, the climax fight scene which involves many suffering an electric shock has been taken from the comedy blockbuster ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ which came in 1994.

Point is, by lifting few bits and pieces from different stories of different ages, a story has been cooked up and that was mixed with elements of humor, romance, satirical dialogues. Still, if the momentum is not there, even a good product will end up like an old cocktail. Primarily, the film lacked a consistency in its entertainment quotient and the energy factor was quite low.

One could sense a good amount of lag in sequences. That is why, though the humor was good in parts it was not impact creating as a product altogether.

The film takes off on a promising note and the first few minutes sets a good foundation but as it progresses the pace comes down and the predictability factor comes up. The interval bang was decent and the second half had the potential to pick up in its speed. However, with weak music, mistimed placement of songs and disjointed scenes of comedy, the continuity got disturbed and the feel went missing.

Overall, this is a film which offers some entertainment here and there but as a whole it doesn’t really impress.

Bottomline: Out dated execution
