We Spiced Up Action, But Not Emotions In Major: Sesh

Hero Adivi Sesh is excited, enthusiastic and also tired, ahead of the theatrical release of his film Major. He has been going various places along with his team.

The film’s screened are held in different parts of the country and the response is totally positive from every show.

Sesh says he treats Rajamouli as one of his gurus and he followed strategy of RRR in promoting Major by conducting press meets in different cities.

Sesh is against the term Pan India, particularly for this movie, as he feels Major is an Indian cinema.

“I don’t know Pan India, but I know Indian cinema. Coming to Major, we’re releasing the movie countrywide, as not to expand the market. We shot every frame in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. The treatment was also changed for the two languages. Almost every actor including Saiee Manjrekar dubbed for their roles in Telugu.

I don’t call it a universal subject, but Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan is a universal man. Everybody knows that Major sacrificed his life, in order to save hundreds in 26/11 attacks. But not many know that he was born in Kerala and was brought up in Bangalore. He was the captain in Hyderabad cantonment and was fought in Kargil war in Kashmir. He was a training officer in Haryana. He did NDA training in Pune and then army training in Indian Military academy in Dehradun. The man went to these many places belong to All India.”

Sesh informs he gathered lots of information about Major through different interviews, by meeting his friends, parents, colleagues etc. “It would have been a 10-part series, that much content we gathered. But due to length issues, we had to cut many scenes.”

We generally see spiced up scenes and elevations to give raise to protagonists in biopics. Sesh says almost everything in Major is very genuine.

“We spiced up action scenes, but not emotions. The love story was genuine. We spent two days with hostages. We have hours of records with his friends, parents, colleagues etc.”

The film, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka will be hitting the screens in another 3 days on June 3rd.
