The Bollywood film industry is struggling to deliver hits. Although “Brahmastra” posted massive numbers, the next biggie “Vikram Vedha” could not post a huge opening number despite having one of the biggest superstars in India as the hero.
The Hrithik Roshan starrer received positive reviews from a group of critics. A group of critics posted reviews and gave impressive ratings two days before the release.
Despite such promotions, the film could barely collect Rs 10 crore opening on the first day. It was the low start for a big star like Hrithik Roshan.
Bollywood has been trying to bank on remakes and outdated stories. Thus the films are not inspiring the audiences to step out to the theaters. “Vikram Vedha” is a remake of a Tamil film. The story has lost its relevance.
Many of the scenes of the Tamil movie were rehashed in many films. Still, Hrithik went ahead with this outdated story.
Although the film picked up collections on the second day, the film is looking at posting Rs 40 Crore nett the weekend. The Hindi version of Yash’s “KGF 2” collected Rs 50 plus crores on the first day.
