Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has subtly expressed his disapproval of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on Anil Ambani by sharing a news article titled "Curious timing of ED raids".
Without elaborating, he posted the link on social media with hashtags supporting Ambani and Reliance, hinting at discomfort with the ongoing money laundering probe.
The ED’s raids targeted properties and companies tied to Anil Ambani in connection with a ₹3,000 crore loan fraud linked to Yes Bank.
The operation involved nearly 35 locations and raised many eyebrows, including Bachchan’s, who seemed to question why the action was being taken now, especially as Ambani's businesses were showing signs of recovery.
Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Ambani share a long-standing friendship. Bachchan once publicly praised Ambani’s perseverance when Reliance Power and Infrastructure showed signs of bouncing back.
Their bond goes back decades, with Ambani reportedly helping Bachchan during his financial struggles in the 1990s.
Despite the ED action, Reliance firms stated that the raids had no impact on their operations.
Bachchan’s subtle post, however, reflects his emotional support and concern over the timing and intent of the investigation.
