The Congress party will form the government in Telangana in the next assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2019, if a survey purportedly done by a national media house is any indication.
The survey results leaked to the media by sources in the Congress party on Tuesday revealed that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi will end up with just 45 out of 119 assembly seats in Telangana, while the Congress would get just around the absolute majority by winning 64 assembly seats.
The BJP will get just three, while the MIM will retain its seven assembly seats.
According to the survey, the TRS will win seven assembly seats in Adilabad, five in Karimnagar, two in Nizamabad, two in Warangal, six in Medak, three in Hyderabad, five in Ranga Reddy, four in Mahbubnagar, two in Nalgonda and nine in Khammam.
While the BJP will win three seats in Hyderabad (Musheerabad, Amberpet and Goshamahal), the MIM will retain its seven seats.
All the remaining seats will be won by the Congress. There is no confirmation as to who exactly had done the survey, when and what the sample size is.
Since the leak has come from the Congress sources, one has to take it with a pinch of salt!
