A huge set is being created for Prabhas’s action adventure “Saaho” at Ramoji Film City with a cost of about Rs 5 crore.
The film will be shot in big metroes like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Paris apart from Hyderabad and Mumbai. However, 40 per cent of the film will be shot on the set that is being erected presently.
But sources add that this is just one of the sets for the movie. Many big sets will be erected as the shoot progresses. It is going to be one of the costliest productions in south India so far, they reveal.
When the film was launched, the budget was estimated at Rs 150 cr. But following the massive success of “Baahubali 2”, expectations on Prabhas’ movie have increased manifold in all languages.
So, the makers are now planning to make it with Rs 225 cr in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi versions.
But there is another version to the story. Industry insiders say the huge figure is a mere publicity gimmick and add that the idea is to sell the film at exorbitant prices based on Prabhas' current popularity.
But the unit members maintain that the film will be shot with international crew members. A technician working on the movie says that action choreography will be on par with Hollywood flicks.
Saaho is being directed by one-film-wonder Sujith whose first film "Run Raja Run" was made with a mere Rs 5 crore.
UV Creations is producing Saaho.
