Pawan Kalyan Couldn't, Can Raviteja Do it?

Pawan Kalyan Couldn't, Can Raviteja Do it?

Raviteja has confirmed that he is doing remake of Tamil blockbuster Theri in Telugu. Interestingly, Theri was dubbed into Telugu as Policeodu and had a grand release across Telugu states through Dil Raju.

The film failed to click with our audience although the original was a runaway blockbuster.

Remaking movies that are already dubbed into Telugu is rare but not a new thing in Tollywood.

Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu was a remake of Veeram that was dubbed in Telugu. However Katamarayudu didn’t work at box office.

Now Raviteja is attempting the remake of Policeodu, which was actually rewritten for Pawan Kalyan.

As Pawan Kalyan took a break from films until elections, Raviteja stepped in as the replacement.

Raviteja says more than seventy percent of the script of Policeodu has been changed to suit the tastes of Telugu audience.

“Basic storyline doesn’t change, but there are a lot of changes to its treatment. People will definitely feel like watching a new film,” Raviteja told.

Santosh Srinivas is directing the film for Mythri Movie Makers who made a two-film deal with Raviteja. Amar Akbar Antony is the other film in this deal.
