Naga Chaitanya: 'My father would be very hurt'

Samantha-Naga Chaitanya's wedding is perhaps the biggest event of the year. Earlier this year, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha finally got engaged amid the presence of superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni and Akhil Akkineni.

While the couple is all set to tie the knot on October 6, reports are doing the rounds that the couple has decided to have a beach wedding in Goa, much like that scene in Manam.

Confirming the date, the Naga Chaitanya says, “Yes, our wedding is on October 6. We didn’t get a chance to announce the date as it was revealed on stage at an awards function.”

On rumours about him and Samantha having told their parents that they would fund their own wedding, Chay clarifies, “Why would we do that? Our wedding is an occasion of great joy for our families. My father would be very hurt if I was to make such a suggestion. Both our families are collectively taking part in all the events.”

The couple is in two minds as to where the wedding should take place.

“We could have the wedding right here in Hyderabad where all our family and friends are. Or have a destination wedding in Goa where we wouldn’t invite many  people,” he says.

At the moment, the Goan alternative seems to have an upper hand since both he and Samantha are shy individuals.

“We don’t enjoy too much attention. So, a select guest list at the wedding would be more our thing. However, we have to keep family sentiments in mind and take a call accordingly,” he explains.

Naga Chaitanya, who has worked with Samantha in films like Ye Maya Chesave and Manam, reportedly fell in love after working in Autonagar Surya.
