Chiru Loses Touch With Young Audiences?

Chiru Loses Touch With Young Audiences?

Megastar Chiranjeevi is all set to act in his 150th film. He is a pro when it comes to picking scripts and he takes all care when it comes to Ram Charan's films.

Before Charan okays a film, it goes through Chiranjeevi and he takes the final call. However, he has grossly miscalculated one thing and that is the script of Srimanthudu.

Immediately after the success of Mirchi, Koratala Siva took the story to mega camp. Bandla Ganesh was ready to produce the film. But the mega family put him on hold.

The reason was that Chiranjeevi did not relate to a story where the hero goes to the village and tries to give back something to his village.

Well, the film has all commercial elements including the face off between the hero and the villain like any other commercial film. Still, Chiranjeevi felt that the script did not have enough stuff.

Well, now Srimanthudu is a huge commercial success and if one sets aside Baahubali, it has created a record of sorts by bringing in Rs 100 crores.

And post Srimanthudu, many in the industry are wondering if Chiranjeevi had miscalculated few other stories that were taken to him for his 150th film. Unless those films become hits, the real story will not come out.

But that does not mean that Chiranjeevi has lost his intuition, it simply means that the audiences have changed over years and so did their preferences.
