Overseas Trade: Big Drop in Collections

Overseas Trade: Big Drop in Collections

All three Sankranthi movies have performed so well in the first weekend at the US box office. Khaidi No. 150 collected over $ 2.2 Million, Gautamiputra Satakarni collected nearly $ 1.5 Million and Shatamanam Bhavati grossed over half a million in first weekend.

Buyers hoped that second weekend also would be strong as audience divided between three films during the first weekend.

However, collections of all the three films witnessed a huge fall during week days and Friday trends also aren’t encouraging.

GPSK collected $44K, K150 grossed $37K and SB added another $34K to its tally. While GPSK buyer is already into profits, the buyers of other two films are almost into safe zone.

Trade expected second weekend to be huge so that all the three films could add another $300K to $400K to their tally. But it looks unlikely going by the early weekend trends.

Saturday should be sensational for GPSK and SB to cross $ 2M and $ 1M mark respectively. Thanks to distributor’s bad planning and ridiculous pricing, K150 will end up below $ 2.5M in spite of its record breaking premieres.
