Nothing seems to be working for the Baadshah of Bollywood lately. After suffering a series of box office flops, Shahrukh Khan's stardom takes yet another blow with his latest release Jab Harry Met Sejal.
The film turned out to be a damp squib at the ticket window that it collected less than SRK’s biggest flop Fan in its first weekend.
With a weekend tally of Rs. 45.75 crore nett, JHMS is likely to go down as the biggest flops of the year yet.
Monday being a partial holiday buyers hoped for the film to hold strong, but that didn’t happen. There is a 55% drop on Monday compared to its Friday collections. JHMS in all likelihood will end up below Rs. 100 crore nett in its theatrical run.
SRK fans couldn’t even argue that it is a non-commercial film like Fan as JHMS has all the ingredients that are associated with a King Khan’s blockbuster.
Although Shahrukh did his best to make Harry an enjoyable character it is director Imtiaz Ali who messed it up by making the movie without a script.
Stardom alone cannot save a film from being a disaster and JHMS serves as a great example for it.
