People who have watched Aamir Khan's PK will remember the character of the godman Tapaswi in it.
In the movie, Aamir Khan terms Tapaswi as a wrong number for misguiding people in the name of God. Many people opine that religion is a personal thing and references to God should not be made in the public domain. If that be the case then surely our very own Telugu politicians are at fault judging by their behavior and utterances.
It would be interesting to find out whom among them out of Jagan, Chandrababu and KCR, is the wrong number.
YS Jagan has been saying repeatedly in his speeches that if god’s grace is upon him then he will become the Chief Minister. He also created a sensation of sorts by saying that according to astrology, Chandrababu would be out of power in two years. Which brings us to the question as to whether it is right on the part of Jagan to take the name of god for his personal ambitions and also take recourse to astrology to predict the future.
Jagan would be better off advising the youth to believe in hard work and hope for good and sound governance in the future. Development should be the only ‘mantra’ for any politician hopeful of leading the people.
Contestant number two is Chandrababu Naidu. People believe that ever since Naidu made Brahmani, his daughter-in-law , thanks to his increased association with Balakrishna, he has become very superstitious and spiritual.
Sources say that the reason why Naidu is keen on the location of the new capital at ‘Thulluru region’ despite everyone advising him against it is because of ‘vaasthu’ reasons as he believes that ‘Thulluru’ will be lucky for him personally.
Naidu also made headlines when he refused to visit ‘Nagarjuna University’ recently also because of ‘Vaasthu’ reasons.
As for KCR, the third contestant, he has absolutely no qualms in making public his devotional fervor. Thanks to KCR, everyone knows today what a‘Chandi Yagam’ is! KCR encourages these rituals a lot and believes they were instrumental in getting him the CM seat. That people of Telangana and AP would become enemies forever is no concern of his!
Interestingly, when KCR and Naidu met at a Party thrown by the Governor, KCR is said to have remarked to Naidu, “Set up your new capital in Amaravathi. As per Vaasthu, that is the best place for you.”
