Sustainable Development conference on Oct 17 @ Rutgers

New Jersey: On the occasion of 84th Birthday of Late President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Lead India 2020 USA, is organizing Dr. Kalam’s Memorial - 'Sustainable Development' Conference on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 09.00 AM to 05.00 PM at Rutgers University. 

Srinivas Ganagoni, President of Lead India 2020 Foundation (USA) said, "the conference will offer variety of information to the attendees ranging from business to education to empowerment".

Hari Eppanpally, Chairman of the board of Lead India 2020 Foundation (USA) said, "this Conference will bring together NGOs, practitioners, researchers and educators from around the world who are engaged in empowering and transforming youth into responsible citizens. 

The Conference will focus on Sustainable Development through spiritual families, affordable quality healthcare and education which were the dream of Dr. Kalam".

Mr Eppanapalli also added that this is also part of the agenda adopted by world leaders at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit during September 25 - 27, 2015. 

Mr Ganagoni added that, The Lead India 2020 (USA) team and conference committee have made extensive arrangements for all the speakers and the attendees.

He mentioned that, the conference would be informative, inspirational, and educational to youth and all age groups. 

The speakers at the conference include David O’Connor ( United Nations), Taruna Sadhoo (UNICEF), Ambassador Dnynaneshwar M. Mulay (Consul General of India), Upendra Chivukula (NJ Commissioner), Assemblyman Raj Mukharji (NJ Assemblyman), S (Mani) Yegnasurbramanian (VBF&HATCC), Vikas Chawla (Art of Living), MG Prasad (Steven’s Institute of Technology), Aziz Nathoo (Aga Khan Foundation), Horacio Rilo (Northshore LIJ Healthcare System), Pravin Mishra (Intermountain Healthcare System), Meena Murthy (St. Peter’s University Hospital), Francis Somerwel (Ekam Foundation-India), Kishore Kuncham (Freeport Public Schools), Prof. William Graham (Rotary International), Dr. Kathryn Rogers (Plainsboro Regional School District), Ekta Sodh (National Independent School Alliance), Prof. Rajasekhar Vangapaty (Fashion Institute of Technology). 

Apart from the speakers, the conference also has Cultural Programs. 

The team has planned for a full day conference on topics covering -

-> Sustainable development through Affordable Quality Healthcare 
-> Sustainable development through Affordable Quality Education

Further, the conference is also conducting Essay Writing Competition for Youth. Lead India 2020 Foundation is inviting Essay from School/College Student ages between 15 and 22 to write an essay on the following topics. The winner will win an iPad mini for each category. 

Attaining Sustainable Development through - Developing Spiritual Families, Affordable Quality Healthcare, and Affordable Quality.

The rules of the essay are- 
1. Essay should be type written on A4 size word document 
2. Should not exceed 3 pages in print for each topic 
3. The top winner in each category will get an opportunity to present their essay in the conference 
4. All participants are invited to attend the conference and receive certificate.
