NATA Women's Day Celebrations

North American Telugu Association (NATA) celebrated the Women’s day program in style at Krishna Vilas in Cumming, GA.

Keeping the special significance of Women’s day in mind, NATA conducted three activities as part of the Friday night program that was attended by over 150 people.

1. Musical night with Ramu Maharajapuram and Sarada Akunuri
2. Healthy Food Recipe Contest
3. Women’s day celebrations.

The following winners have been announced in Healthy recipe contest:

Snack: Jyothi Kasireddy, Item: Khatta Meetha Salad
Breakfast: Madhavi Alladi, Item: Oats Vegetable Dosa
Lunch: Gayatri Dokka, Item: Healthy vegetable quinoa pulav
Dinner: Madhavi Kasam, Item: Beetroot Turumu

The night came alive with melodious songs, pulsating rhythms, enthralling entertainment that exceeded every one’s expectations. In addition, the healthy recipe contest generated a lot of buzz and excitement on its own.

A special note should be made here to commend the fantastic talent of our celebrity guests, Ramu Maharajapuram from India and Sarada Akunuri from Houston. Their huge talent and fame notwithstanding, both the celebrities wowed all of us with their humble, down-to-earth attitude and their readiness to spontaneously join with the crowds. They kept the crowd on their feet, by effortlessly singing the latest chartbusters with gusto.

Each performance was received with a very high degree of enthusiasm by the overtly supportive audience, and the excitement exponentially magnified thanks to their sportive attitude and goodwill.

Atlanta’s talented local singers including Venkat Chennubhotla, Phani Dokka, Ram Durvasula, Gopal Turaga, Srinivas Durgam, Bhanu Sri, Usha Mocherla, & Padma Pucha also added to the festive night with their melodies.

The following NATA Convention chairs, co-chairs and members actively participated in the women's day celebrations: Madhavi Indurti, Sandhya Yellapragada, Neelima Gaddamanugu, Shailaja Gella, Vijaya Lanka, Bhanu Sri, Usha Mocherla, Anupama Subbagari, Malathi Tadavarthi, Namrata Sanghabhathula, Jyothi Goli, Aparna Turaga & Prasoona Kota. 

Felicitation to the guests and recipe contest winners was conducted with dignity by the Atlanta NATA Team: comprising of Bala Indurti, Srini Vangimalla, Dr. T. Satyanarayana Reddy, Ravi Kandimalla, Goutham Goli, Madhavi Indurti, Prasoona Kota, Namrata Satuluru, Malathi Tadavarthi & Lakshmi Pemmaraju.

The NATA team, under the guidance of its leaders Dr.Prem Reddy and Dr.Malla Reddy and President Dr.Sanjeeva Reddy, has put in exemplary efforts for promoting community services, cultural and social activities, and preservation and promotion of Telugu language and heritage in the United States, and across the globe.

The biennial NATA Convention in 2014, from July 4th-6th, is going to be a mega event of its kind where over 10,000 people of Telugu origin are expected at the GWCC Convention center in Atlanta downtown for the three day period.

In addition, the Convention will be transmitted LIVE through many leading TV channels to millions across US, Canada and India. All arrangements are in full swing to make the 3 day fun festival surpass all expectations and provide maximum value to all the people in attendance. Over 200 groups of committed volunteers across US, Canada and India are working tirelessly to ensure the event goes off smoothly.

Convener Bala Indurti announced that the latest Atlanta fundraiser pledge amount is standing tall at $450K. Coordinator Srini Vangimalla explained about Convention preparations in detail. Co-Convener Dr. Tangirala Satyanarayana Reddy provided details about important guests to the forthcoming Convention. The leaders thanked Paramount for their goodwill and help in being a grand sponsor for activities leading up to the convention.

An event of this stature and nature could not have been possible without many willing hands and spirits. This program was sponsored by Sri Krishna Vilas - Satish Musunuri and Rapid IT Inc Goutham Goli.

Media coordination was ably done by Venkat Mondeddu. Thanks are due to  Ravi Kandimalla for Over all coordination.

Ramesh Chapparala deserves kudos for his yeoman efforts in helping with the critical arrangements. The Flyer was diligently designed by Raghava Tadavarthi.

Prameela Gopu proved once again that she is unmatchable, with her excellent help in web coordination.  

Audio coordination and support from Venkat Chennubhotla was a tremendous help! Photography by Dr. GV Rao & Video and TV5 support by Sridhar Vakiti helped ensure that the delightful memories are safely encased for generations to come.

Publicity by Kiran Kandula helped us reach out to everyone interested in telugu culture and community service.  

Gireesh Meka  deserves a special note of recognition for his spirited help in Registration activities.
