NATA joined in India's Independence Day Parade

New York/New Jersey: North American Telugu Association (NATA) has participated in FIA (Federation of Indian Associations) India Day parade on Madison Avenue, New York city, the world’s largest India Day parade.

The NATA team lead by President Elect Rajeshwar Gangasani Reddy, Joint-Secretary Srinivas Ganagoni, Executive Director Rami Reddy Alla, BODs Anna Reddy, Vishnu Kotimreddy, Shiva Meka,  RVPs Sarath Mandapati (NJ), Ashok Attada (NY) and RC Naveen Buchi, Bhanoji Reddy along with many other members and supporters of  NATA have marched in the streets of New York city with NATA Banner.

The whole procession was led by Naveen Buchi, raising slogan for Bhartmath Ki Jai and NATA Ki Jai.

New York’s India Day Parade stepped off Sunday with a Scottish-style bagpipe band in kilts gflying an Indian flag from E38 Street of Madison Ave celebrating India’s 69th Independence Day.

The Telugu people are waiving their hands toward NATA Banner and raising slogan NATA zindabad!. NATA is the only national Telugu organization participated in the parade for which FIA organizers have appreciated. Over 150,000 people participated in the India Day parade and witnessed the NATA team.

The Federation of Indian Associations of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut has attempted to set Guinness world record with most number of people marching with flags of all countries in the world, flown simultaneously by people at a single event with the help of Indian organizations and NATA is one among those.

Officials from Guinness Book of world records came and observed the march and recorded the results. IDP Grand Marshal was Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal while Parineeti Chopra was the Guest of Honor, Star cricket player and celebrity guest Virender Shewag, Shankar Mahadevan cheered the crowd and energized all participants.

Indian Overseas Congress President Junidi Qazz along with Chief Guest Shashi Tharoor and BJP Chief Guest:Harayana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Mr Khattar, accompanied by India's Consul General Dnyaneshwar Mulay, congratulated the huge gathering of Indians on the country's Independence Day and lauded the achievements of the diaspora in his brief remarks.

Before the parade began Mr Tharoor said, that the event has been growing in importance and visibility over the years of Indians in the world.

NATA also participated in the IBA parade on Aug 8 at Oak Tree Road in Edison and Iselin to celebrate India's Independence Day with a boisterous, jubilant parade. The 11th annual India Day parade took off under warm weather and partly cloudy skies, with American and Indian music, traditional South and East Asian dances, and cries of the patriotic Indian slogan "Jai Hind! And Bharath Mata ki Jai!!"
