India Would Prefer Pak Over Aus In Semis?

Either Australia or Pakistan will be India's semi-final opponent. So who would India like to face?

It's a no brainer. Let's admit it: man for man Australia are a superior unit. They are so much a well-heeled side. In David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell, the Aussies have an explosive batting line-up. Mitchell Starc has been the bowler of the World Cup -has been difficult to score off at the death. And we are not even talking of Mitchell Johnson.

Having played India in the Tests as well as the tri-series, Australia know the strengths and weaknesses of MS Dhoni's men like the back of their hands. Also, India might still have the psychological block against the Aussies.

After an uncertain start, Pakistan are gradually finding their groove, particularly in bowling, which is their strong suit anyway. Wahab Riaz has earned raves for his pace and accuracy. Pakistan's batting still looks a bit edgy. And therein India has a clear advantage. The 6-0 record against their neighbours in the WC also adds to In dia's feel-good factor. But as the cliché goes in the knockouts the past seldom matters.
