ATA Re-assures Commitment Towards Covid-19 Relief

American Telugu Association, ATA, held its board meeting at The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas on Saturday May 8th, covering various topics, ranging from current programs to future conference updates.

ATA Regional Coordinators, Standing Committees and Board of Trustees kickstarted the event with tributes honoring victims of the COVID-19 pandemic, expressing hope for a speedy recovery with the tragic situation in India.

ATA has donated 100 Oxygen Concentrators to AP and Telangana and is currently working tirelessly to send more. ATA board expressed its commitment to support India in a number of ways during these dreaded times.

ATA President Bhuvanesh Boojala, Secretary Hari Prasad Reddy Lingala, Treasurer Sainath Reddy Boyapalli, and various committees presented their reports. The 2021 ATA calendar includes webinars on Real estate, tax laws, and immigration in the light of travel ban to US from India alongside ATA Community Services programs such as food, vaccination, and blood drives, etc.

In addition, ATA is conducting creative segment programs such as Yoga classes, LA Fitness membership discounts (exclusive to ATA members), Bhagavad-Gita for youth enhancement and development, and DevOps trainings along with ATA’s Dollars for Scholars program, offering scholarships to second generation college students.

ATA Board encouraged Non-Resident Telugu people to support ATA Foundation’s My school - My responsibility program: an innovative program to help improve the infrastructure in schools in both the Telugu states.

ATA’s signature program, the 17th ATA Conference & Youth convention will be held for the first time in Washington DC from July 1st – 3rd, 2022 at Walter E Convention Center.

The conference committee is as follows: Sudheer Bandaru as the Conference Convenor, Kiran Pasham as the Conference Coordinator, KK Reddy as the Conference Director, Sai Sudhini as the Co-Convenor, Ravi Challa as the Co-Coordinator and Ravi Bojja as the Co-convenor. Advisory Committee comprises of Jayanth Challa (Chair), Vinod Koduru (Co-Chair), Karun Asireddy, Mahendar Musku, and Goutham Goli.

ATA Conference Adhoc Committee, the main body in-charge of the planning and execution of the conference, comprises of Dr.Parshuram Pinnapreddy, Sharath Vemula, Anil Boddireddy, Raghuveer Bandaru, Rinda Sama, Dr.Meher Medavaram, Sunny Reddy, and Sudha Rani Kondapu. The Capitol Area Telugu Society (CATS) will be Co-hosting the conference.

ATA President Bhuvanesh Boojala, President-elect Madhu Bommineni, and the past President Parmesh Bheemreddy appreciated the efforts of the Regional Coordinators and Standing Committees while the ATA Executive Committee recognized efforts of the ATA SEVA team.

The upcoming board meeting will be held in September in Detroit, Michigan.
