Editorial: Aam Aadmi's Woes With 'Aam Aadmi'

From many decades post independence, the life of a common man in India has seen only suffering and exploitation.

This is more from the rulers of this nation who speak about good governance and democracy on the record but off it, do the total opposite.

Corruption and manipulation has become deep rooted and rampant in the system and always it is the common man who bears the brunt of it.

A lot is spoken about the change that is needed to transform the system and it is at this moment the Aam Aadmi Party emerged as a ray of hope for all.

Public went hysteric and showed their faith in voting the party to power in Delhi.

Today, its founder Arvind Kejriwal has become a powerful man by becoming the CM of Delhi. But with each passing day, the Aam Aadmi is beginning to get doubts over his choice.

Well, the functioning of the Aam Aadmi Party and the thought process of Kejriwal is actually causing more trouble to the common man.

The latest episode of Dharna by Kejriwal in the busy parliament street showed stars to the daily earner.

Delhi experienced its worst ever traffic jam. People could not reach office on time and in today’s time everybody knows how each minute counts and jobs are at stake for the slight delay.

This has become a cause to worry for the common man because this is not what he expected from Kejriwal and camp.

If the party is meant to be for the welfare of the people then it must seek opinions on how the governance must be streamlined and empower the citizens to make them responsible.

However, Kejriwal’s innings so far is reflecting more of an anarchist than a people’s man.

Though some benefit of doubt could be given to him on the account of his debut, Delhi is a very sensitive place and the manner in which Aam Aadmi Party has come to power holds the faith and trust of millions of Indians who seek change and corruption free politics.

A small error from Kejriwal can shake the confidence of the Aam Aadmi in a very big way. Hope he realizes the criticality and plans his future course of action in a responsible manner.
