Netas...Clean Your Backyard First

There is a lot of drama and action happening regarding the spot fixing issue in the recently concluded IPL and the government machinery has been on its toes tying up all loose ends and bringing out more skeletons from the closet. While it is impressive to see such efficiency in the system, another surprising part is the way the politicians are uniting on this issue and coming up with statements of truth, morality and integrity.

Well, this is kind of gagging to hear it from our Netas who have lived all their life in corruption and scams. The UPA government has been aiming all its guns towards this spot fixing issue and more than bringing justice, it looks like this is a desperate measure to take away the public and media focus on them before another scam or corruption case hits them. Even the opposition seems to be keen on giving a respite to the government.

But there is something these so called ‘Leaders’ should know. Before they point their fingers at someone who takes money for not bowling correctly, they should pull up their socks and cleanse the system in which everybody pays money to get better government jobs, to get their projects cleared and work on various other issues. And the root cause for this deep rooted corruption has been the politicians.

It is understood that the spot fixing issue has marred the image of the Gentleman’s game but the Netas instead of focusing on this should focus on cleaning their backyard first which is rusted with innumerable tales of corruption and power mismanagement. One can recall the way they handled the protestors during the Nirbhaya Gang Rape incident and prior to that during the Lokpal bill agitations. Why didn’t they show the same efficiency during the Coalgate or Railgate scam?

The government is now heading to pass a bill in the next parliament session regarding the fixing thing. Well, it would be much appreciated if they also focus on fixing the corruption and scam issues if they really think the society has to live in peace and common man doesn’t get frustrated. The sincerity of the Netas on the spotfixing incident is bringing mocking smiles than appreciations or applauds.
