Sonia seeks Rosaiah advice on Telangana!

The Congress high command seems to be consulting every senior leader concerned on the Telangana statehood issue, as it is not able to decide as to what decision it should take.

On Monday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had called Tamil Nadu governor K Rosaiah for an informal meeting to discuss the Telangana issue.

According to sources, Sonia sought the advice of Rosaiah on the Telangana issues, as he was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh when the Centre had to make the controversial statement on December 9, 2009, commencing the process of separate Telangana. It was this statement which led to the political uncertainty in the state.

The Congress president is learnt to have asked Rosaiah’s suggestions as to what the best possible solution could be on the Telangana issue and what the likely repercussions would be in the state, if the separate Telangana state is granted.

Earlier, Sonia summoned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to New Delhi and sought his feedback on the reportedly sought his views on the Telangana issue and its possible repercussions. Sonia’s political advisor Ahmed Patel also reportedly took part in the meeting, which lasted 40 minutes. As usual, Kiran kept his cards close to his chest on what is there in the mind of Sonia.
