Seemandhra Leaders Making Final Attempt!

The Congress party leaders from Seemandhra region are making a last ditch effort to stall the formation of Telangana state, if the Centre has already made up its mind on the issue.

The Seemandhra leaders made an attempt to meet AICC observer Vayalar Ravi, but could not do so as they reached his place half an hour behind schedule and by that time they went to him, he was already leaving for Kerala, A visibly annoyed Vayalar said he had no time to talk to them and they could meet him only on Tuesday evening.

Later, they called AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and appealed to him to see that the Centre did not take a decision in a hasty manner. But Singh told them that the high command had already taken a decision after discussing with all party leaders and it was only a matter of days that the announcement comes from union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.

Subsequently, they went to Shinde’s office and were closeted with him to bring pressure on him to put on hold any decision on Telangana. They also sought appointments with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and others.
