Generally, an year is dedicated to a particular theme or noble cause by the Indian government. But it looks like the year 2013 will mostly be dedicated as the Year of Rapes In India. The reason for this is the rate at which rape incidents are happening in our country and that too in various formats and styles.
Wherever you go you hear only rapes. This trend has increased after the horrifying gangrape which happened on December 16th in a bus at Delhi. After that the social networking sites, news channels, TV channels and all other sources of information are talking only about rapes more than anything else.
Have rapes not happened before in India? Are media focused on rapes now? People are getting confused about this overdose of rape reporting. On an average, weekly two rape cases are being reported nationwide and nobody really knows what happens to the rapists after that. Sad but true.
