Sachin's Genes vs Selection Criteria

Sachin's Genes vs Selection Criteria

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will no longer be seen in the world of one day cricket and though many miss him some are already focusing their eyes on his son Arjun Tendulkar. However, Sachin is one man who maintained a clean slate bereft of any controversies and Arjun seems to have already started one.

Well, news is arriving that Arjun has been chosen for Mumbai Under-14 team despite a weak show of 70 runs this year. While that is fine what stumped many is the MCA’s statement that Arjun was selected because he has his father’s genes. Now, when did genes become passing criteria for selection.

Of course, it is heard that few other players in the team have got worse records but since it is Sachin’s son in focus the attention is high. Buzz is that Sachin would never do anything to push his son but the fact remains that another player who scored 400 runs in a single match and has three five-wicket hauls didn’t find a place. Strange but true!
