Ganta Has Hints From Centre On United AP!

Even as the Centre is yet to take a final call on the state bifurcation issue, political leaders from Telangana and Seemandhra are coming out with contradictory statements, creating a lot of confusion among the people of the state.

Within a couple of hours of labour minister Danam Nagender announcing that he had received firm indications from the Congress high command that the Centre has more or less decided to grant separate Telangana with Hyderabad as common capital for Seemandhra and Telangana for 10 years, minister for ports Ganta Srinivasa Rao came out with a totally contradictory announcement.

Ganta declared that he, too, had received strong information from the Centre that the state will remain united.

“The state will remain united and there is no question of formation of Telangana. We have credible information from the Centre to this effect,” he said.

At the same time, Ganta said the Seemandhra leaders would not take any chances. He said Seemandhra leaders, cutting across party lines, would meet in Hyderabad on January 17 to bring pressure on the Centre to keep the state united. “We are very much hopeful that the state will not be bifurcated,” he said.
