Kiran Plans To Woo Jagan Group Backfire

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s attempt to woo the Congress party MLAs with various sops so as to prevent them from jumping the fence into YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has completely boomeranged on him.

Most of the MLAs who Kiran had managed to retain during the last year’s no-confidence motion are now defecting into the YSR Congress party one after the other.

The resignation of Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy from the Congress party is a classic example for this strategy. Dwarampudi, who was originally with the Congress party, later shifted loyalties to Jagan. However, during the no-confidence motion, Kiran managed to retain him by offering him various sops including Constituency development funds and various projects.

But after gaining all these benefits, he quit the Congress on Sunday and took a plunge into the Jagan camp, saying he was disgusted with the Kiran’s administration and witch-hunting of Jagan family. Most recently, Darsi MLA Buchepalli Sivaprasada Reddy also adopted the same strategy.

Earlier, Chintalapudi MLA M Rajesh also quit the Congress to join Jagan camp after getting all the benefits from Kiran. Now, two more MLAs from Krishna district Jogi Ramesh and Perni Naani who were pampered by the chief minister are all set to ditch him to take a plunge into Jagan party.
