An Unknown Rape That Opened A Nation's Eyes

The recent incident of gang rape in Delhi was a rude wakeup call to the nation. Despite her will and desire to live, the brutality of the injuries got the better of her and she passed away. No one knows her real name. For some she is Amanat, for some she is Nirbhaya. But this unknown rape has sure opened the Nation’s eyes.

A huge outcry is roaring across the four corners of this big country as questions are being posed to the government, the laws and the system. Her body has become ash but the flames of her pyre have lit a major revolution which is now demanding nothing but death to the monstrous rapists.

Thousands who don’t know her have shed tears and expressed their solidarity. Rights are being spoken about. The police and transport department are neck deep in the greed for money which made a private bus roam illegally on the roads of Delhi and became the venue for a beastly crime.

The girl has left behind a rage which was suppressed and how far this fire will take this nation remains to be seen. But one thing is clear, her death is not wasted and instead it has opened the eyes to an otherwise blind society.
