A rather sinful and shameful incident that has rattled the entire nation today is the gang rape incident which happened in a bus in Delhi. Before the rapists are brought to task, already few more rape incidents are being reported. Ideally the first action to be taken is take the rapists to immediate judiciary and the punishment must be given. Like the entire nation wants, a death penalty is the right thing to do.
But then again, we live in the forsaken system called democracy which is being twisted in the most awful manner possible. The two main wings of the society the politicians and the police are busy playing the blame-game. We are talking about the duo of the Delhi CM Sheila Dixit and the top cop of Delhi Neeraj Kumar. Both are busy passing the buck and it has ended up becoming a battle of egos than bringing justice to the common man.
For Sheila, it is everything about the upcoming elections and how the administration has to be saved. For Neeraj, it is about the sheer failure of his men and the police force but despite having his back to the wall he has been fighting against the huge public outcry. But in between all this, both streams are failing to realize one thing, the victim is battling for her life and the rapists are still alive without a blemish on their skin.
As it is, the Prime Minister has embarrassed all with his ‘Theek Hai’ after the national address. It all goes to show how dumb and dumber the political and police departments have been. What the country needs is not these words and the empty statements trying to point fingers at each other. Everyone needs action and that is fair justice to the victim. If that doesn’t happen then the respect for this system, the politicos and the police force, everything will be gone. Wake up!!!
