Editorial: Congress Politicians and Insensitive Tyranny

In a true democracy, an elected representative of the people has to cater to their needs and ensure their welfare is taken care of. He/she is also answerable to their queries and holds a moral responsibility towards the society. But in India such things don’t work. The most flouting case of democracy is seen in India and with the Indian politicians. After congress came to power, the situation has worsened.

Another addition to their absolutely insensitive and heartless approach is their reactions towards the Gang rape incident which happened in Delhi. The entire nation is up in arms against the heinous crime and is demanding death penalty to the rapists but one man shrugged that of as a ‘minor incident’. He is Botsa Satyanarayana, a responsible minister in the AP state cabinet.

Purely for conveying their loyalty towards their party, men like Botsa have not hesitated to discard the incident as minor. If the same happened to his daughter would he give the same statement? While Botsa has done enough damage with his statements, he was joined in the bandwagon by the honourable union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.

He mentioned that he would treat the protests of the students and other youngsters like it was a Maoist insurgent movement. He made it clear that government would not meet anyone. What arrogance!! At a time when the government must take rapid measures to pacify the anguish of its people, politicians like Botsa and Shinde are coming up with reckless statements and showing their tyranny.

No reprimand has been shown on both of them but here is the fact. Congress is in no good position to take the 2014 elections and the way they are throwing around their weight without any care or responsibility, their end looks certain. The reaction towards the gang rape incident is the final straw to be broken which is enough for the people to get snapped. Maybe the government should ask its loyal followers to keep their mouth shut if they don’t want further damage.
