Naidu to wait till Centre discloses T-plan

With the reports from New Delhi indicating that the Centre might come out with a decision on Telangana by the month end, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to wait for it before disclosing his stand on the issue.

“If the Centre comes out with its road map on the Telangana issue, our party will also come out with a clear stand. We are discussing our strategy within the party and with leaders of all the regions. Let the Congress disclose its stand first and begin the process. We will also give clarity on the issue,” Telangana TDP leader and Rajya Sabha member T Devender Goud said.

Sources said the TDP leaders are of the view that the party has to make open its stand on Telangana, if it has to regain its credibility. “All these days, the people of Telangana had ruled us out because of our two-eyed policy, But our leader has complicated the issue by saying that he would write a letter to the Centre in support of Telangana. This has raised hopes among the people again. If he doesn’t do it or defers it indefinitely, our credibility will go down the drain,” a TDP leader from Telangana said.
