Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday made it clear that it is impossible for adopting a resolution Telangana state formation, because it is bound to be lost.

“Majority of the MLAs in the state assembly are from Seemandhra region and if the Telangana resolution is introduced in the assembly, they would vote against it and hence, it would be defeated. In such a case, the very purpose of agitation by the Telangana MLAs will be lost,” the Chief Minister, reacting to the adjournment motion moved by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi legislators who stalled the assembly on the first day of the monsoon session.

He, however, expressed hope that the Centre would take an early decision on the Telangana statehood demand in view of the peculiar circumstances prevailing in the state. He asked the Telangana leaders to wait for some more time till the Centre announces a decision.
