T-Cong Leaders Feeling The Heat

Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s statement that there is no immediate solution to the Telangana imbroglio has put pressure on the Telangana Congress leaders once again.

Shinde’s statement has only strengthened the determination of the Telangana Joint Action Committee to intensify the agitation, much to the concern of the Telangana Congress leaders.

The pressure will be all the more intense once Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu writes a letter to the Centre in support of the separate state. Particularly, there would be huge pressure on the Telangana ministers to resign from their posts.

Having realized this, the Telangana ministers are now planning to make a beeline to New Delhi and meet party president Sonia Gandhi to make a personal appeal to grant statehood to Telangana.  Ministers Baswaraj Saraiah and K Jana Reddy met deputy chief minister Damodar Raja Narasimha at his residence on Wednesday and asked him to take the lead in this regard. They reportedly sought an appointment with Sonia and once it is confirmed, they would go to Delhi to meet her.
