The Telugu land has always been known for its ‘Avakai’ and ‘Biryani’ and that is one reason why we also got the film ‘Avakai Biryani’. In general essence, this term is also used to refer to the Telugu masala in the films and now the same masala has touched the circuit of Bollywood.
Apparently, the recent string of Hindi movies has been seeing a lot of Telugu masala in Bollywood mass films. The north Indian masses are finding this to be very new and they are giving claps and whistles in the theatres. On the contrary, when Telugu audience are watching those Hindi movies, they are finding it hard to relish that.
The reason for that is, we have seen such things right from the times of Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna and others. Some of the recent blockbuster hits like ‘Singham’ ‘Rowdy Rathore’ ‘Wanted’ and the latest ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ etc have proper ingredients of a Telugu masala action and it is clicking big time in the north. Once again the power of Avakai Masala has been proved.
