Known for his pungent and sharp comments, maverick state secretary of Communist Party of India K Narayana refused to mediate with Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on the Telangana statehood demand.
Reacting to a question from media persons on Monday, Narayana said he was not a middleman to negotiate between the Telangana groups and the TDP president.
“Why should I convince Naidu on giving a letter to the Centre in support of Telangana? My party has its own stand on the issue and the TDP has to take its own stand. I cannot mediate between the Telangana parties and Naidu,” he said.
Narayana, who will take out Telangana Poru Yatra from Paloncha in Khammam district on August 25 and will end it at Warangal on September 3, said he would work in coordination with the people’s organizations on the Telangana issue.
“We, however, will not share any dais with the BJP on the issue,” he added.
