Kiran Hoping Against Hope

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy seems to be hoping against hope in continuing power till 2014 elections.

He told the media in Eluru that he would continue to be the Chief Minister till the 2014 elections and challenged that he would lead the party from the front in the electoral battle and see that the party would return to power for the third time.

“There is absolutely no threat to my government. The resignation of roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao would not have any effect on us. In fact, I have not taken any decision on it so far,” he said.

Kiran was apparently irritated by the reports in the media that the Congress high command is looking for a replacement for him and there would be a decision on change of leadership in the state in the next couple of weeks. He is also worried over the high command summoning PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana to discuss the state of affairs in the party.

May be, Kiran got a hint to that effect, but he does not want to show it up on his face. Hence, such bold statements.
