Lok Satta Party on Friday advised that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy better sack the ministers facing various allegations of corruption in connection with the alleged illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, if he wants to safeguard the image and prestige of the government and the Congress party.
Lok Satta General Secretary Katari Srinivasa Rao felt that the reluctance of the Chief Minister in accepting the resignation of roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao had brought a lot of disgrace to the government. In fact, the ministers facing serious allegations of corruption or moral turpitude should resign on their own.
“But since the ministers are still continuing in the cabinet, the Chief Minister has no alternative to sack them,” he said.
Rao further pointed out that if the ministers face an arrest warrant, or convicted in a court of law or if a court frames charges against them, it will be all the more disgraceful to the government. “So, it is better to drop them before facing such a humiliation,” he suggested.
