As expected, P Vijaya Reddy, daughter of former Congress Legislator Party leader and late Khairatabad MLA P Janardhan Reddy on Sunday joined the YSR Congress party headed by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
What is surprising is that along with Vijaya, thousands of PJR supporters, including his close followers, joined the YSR Congress party. Such was the mad rush of the PJR followers at the Jagan party office that the window panes and furniture in the office got damaged. She declared that though her father was an opponent of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, she had joined the YSR Congress party because both PJR and YSR had worked for the uplift of the poor. “By joining the Jagan party, I have brought both PJR and YSR together,” she claimed.
Interestingly, most of the followers of Vijaya are also supporters of her brother Vishnuvardhan Reddy, presently Congress MLA from Jubilee Hills. That has led to the speculations that Vishnu also might join the Jagan party sooner or later.
Vijaya is leading several educational institutions in the area and her husband Bhagavath Reddy is a well-known industrialist.
