A few weeks ago, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao told the Telangana joint action committee that there is no need to launch an agitation for separate Telangana state, as he had enough indications from the Centre that it would make a positive announcement on the statehood issue in August or September.
There were reports that the Congress high command would concentrate on the Telangana statehood issue immediately after the Presidential elections. But it is more than two weeks since the elections took place, but there is no movement in the Centre on the statehood issue. This has obviously upset KCR, who has gradually lost hope on the Centre.
On Saturday, KCR said he won’t believe the Centre anymore on Telangana issue. “In any case, let us wait for five to 10 days and revive the movement in a big way. Hereafter, there are no parties, no flags and no need for any mergers. We have to wage a united battle for Telangana,” he called, while participating in the felicitation of TNGOs leader Swamy Goud, who retired four days ago.
