The Congress high command has no idea of changing the chief minister in the state at present, despite the fact that many party leaders are trying their luck to occupy the chair, says Government chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy.
“Sorry, there is no vacancy for CM post. Those who are trying for the post would have to face the disappointment,” Gandra said.
Obviously, he was taking a dig at endowments minister C Ramachandraiah who had commented that megastar-turned-Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi would soon become the Chief Minister of the state.
“There is nothing wrong in the statement of Ramachandraiah that Chiranjeevi would be the next chief minister. That is his opinion. That does not mean Chiranjeevi would become the Chief Minister now. It could be in 2014. But if Chiranjeevi wants to become the CM now, then I am sorry; as there is no vacancy for the chair,” he said.
