Senior character actor Vijaychander, who is remembered for historic role of Shirdi Sai Baba, seems to have returned to his popular role.
On Tuesday, Vijayachander appeared in a television channel debate with white beard and long robe, exactly reminding the viewers of his famous role of Shirdi Sai Baba. The role has become so popular that whenever people think of Sai Baba, one could remember the face of only Vijayachander. A staunch follower of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Vijayachander is right now playing an active role in YSR Congress party floated by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as a Central Governing Council member of the party.
One does not know why Vijayachander chose to wear the attire of Sai Baba, but it has strangely coincided with the audio release function of the film Shirdi Sai, in which popular hero Nagarjuna is playing the lead role. The film is being directed by veteran director K Raghavendra Rao. Though Nagarjuna was aptly suited for the role, Vijayachander might have thought Nagarjuna’s role should not dominate the same role played by him in the past. Hence, he is appearing in the Sai Baba attire now.
Vijayachander also played several other historical characters like Jesus Christ and Tanguturi Prakasam and excelled in these characters as well. In fact, he gave the impression that he was tailor made for these roles.
