The committee of ministers headed by Dharmana Prasada Rao constituted to look into the sorry state of affairs in the Congress party in the state and suggest measures to restore its lost glory has failed to mention a crucial point that has hit the party prospects: Telangana issue.

The committee has failed to take into consideration the Telangana issue at all, while finding out the reasons for the debacle and suggesting measures to improve its position.

Unfortunately, none of the measures would help the party wriggle out of the crisis unless it takes a stand on the Telangana statehood, no matter how many populist schemes the ruling party would take up to woo the people.

“The committee’s report is totally incomplete without suggesting measures to resolve the Telangana issue. How can the committee prepare the report without even taking the views of the party MPs and MLAs? It won’t help the party in any manner,” Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar said.
