YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi has once again drawn blank in the Supreme Court to get a CBI inquiry against Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu in his alleged illegal assets case.
The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the petition of Vijayalakshmi seeking a probe into the illegal assets of Naidu and 16 others. She filed the petition challenging the High Court order in February, dismissing her public interest litigation petition on technical grounds. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the Supreme Court asked Vijayamma’s counsels Ram Jethmalani and Mukul Rohatgi to approach the Anti-Corruption Bureau in the state first, rather than coming to the apex court directly.
“You can file complaint with the ACB of Andhra Pradesh against Naidu and others. Let the ACB conduct the probe. If you do not get justice in the ACB, then you can come to the Supreme Court,” the judges said.
Apparently, the Supreme Court agreed with the arguments of Naidu’s counsels that the state high court had dismissed the case because there was no merit in it. It once again established the belief that Naidu is capable of managing everybody at every level to get out of the cases.
