Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana’s comment that there is nothing wrong in having two states for the Telugus and he would not mind if the Centre decides to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh has triggered unrest among the integrationists.
Samaikyandhra Students Joint Action Committee on Sunday expressed strong protests over the statement of Botsa.
“The PCC president’s comment is very unfortunate. How can he support the bifurcation of the state which is against the aspirations of majority of the people of the state? Perhaps, Botsa is of the view that he could become the Chief Minister of this part, if the state is bifurcated,” JAC leaders said.
They threatened that the PCC chief would not be allowed to enter Vizianagaram district if he continued to support the bifurcation of the state. There would be massive agitation in Seemandhra, if there is any attempt by the Centre to carve out separate Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.
“We will not let the state divided under any circumstances,” the JAC leaders said.
