What's wrong in having two states, asks Botsa

In a significant development, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana has given a hint that the Centre might go in for bifurcation of the state sooner or later.

The PCC president, who came to New Delhi to brief the high command on the Presidential elections, told the media that the Centre would soon take a decision on the Telangana statehood issue.

“What is wrong in having two states for the Telugu people, when there are 13 states for Hindi-speaking people? Personally, I have no objection to whatever decision the Centre would take on the state bifurcation issue,” he said.

Botsa also defended the statement of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao that the Centre would grant Telangana state in a month or two.

“Since he is leading a party committed for Telangana state, he might have made the statement to enthuse the party cadres. There is nothing to find fault with him,” he said.
