Cong won't give Telangana: Ramulamma

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao might be extremely confident that the Centre would be compelled to announce separate Telangana in August or September, but his own colleague in Lok Sabha Vijayashanti is absolutely not confident of getting any such decision.

“Our leader KCR might have his own indications that the Telangana state would be formed soon, but I don’t have any faith in the Congress party. It will never give Telangana,” she said at a press conference on Saturday.

Vijayashanti alleged that all political parties dominated by the Andhra leaders were causing injustice to Telangana in one form or the other and were trying to dilute the Telangana sentiment.

“The latest in the list is the YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. This party is now planning to weaken the Telangana sentiment in the name of championing the weavers’ problems. It has no moral right to do so unless it clarifies its stand on the Telangana statehood issue,” she said.

The TRS MP pointed out that there was a large number of suicides of weavers in Siricilla in Karimnagar district during the regime of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

“Why didn’t Vijalakshmi talk about them those days? We have fought bitter battles for the weavers issue a number of times in the past, but the successive governments didn’t do anything for them. There is no need for Andhra-dominated political parties to talk about Telangana problems. We are capable of fighting for the same,” she asserted.
