The Telangana Congress MPs, who do not lose any opportunity to raise their voice on the Telangana issue, failed to take up the same when they had a personal talk with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The Madam called the MPs for a meeting to request them personally to vote for Pranab Mukherjee in the Presidential elections. She explained in detail how they should cast their preferential vote for Pranab. Though it was a cordial meeting, the Telangana Congress MPs went there in a separate group, while Seemandhra MPs were in a different group.

The Telangana MPs, however, did not dare raise the issue of separate state though she received them well. Apparently, they still remember the way she took action against them when they stalled the Lok Sabha proceedings in the last parliament session. When they came out, the MPs excused themselves saying they did not want to raise the Telangana issue because the meeting was meant for presidential elections. “But she knows what is there in our minds,” an MP said.
