Telangana Not Now, But Before 2014

Senior Telangana Congress leader and former MP K Kesava Rao is of the view that the formation of Telangana state might not be a reality in a month or two, but it would definitely happen before 2014.

He told the media in Tirupati that the Centre would not take a decision on Telangana just because Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao had fixed the deadlines or Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal had opposed it.

“The Centre will definitely take a decision on the Telangana going by the people’s aspirations. In my view, it will not happen in the next couple of months, but before 2014 elections,” he said.

The senior leader differed with his party colleagues from the region that the Telangana agitation should be revived with full vigour.

“There is no need for any agitation. The Centre is positive on the Telangana issue. And there will be no resistance from the Seemandhra leaders this time,” he said.
